Program Overview
National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations (NIDHI) is an umbrella programme conceived and developed by the Innovation & Entrepreneurship division, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, for nurturing ideas and innovations (knowledge-based and technology-driven) into successful startups. NIDHI-PRomotion and Acceleration of Young and Aspiring technology entrepreneurs (NIDHI-PRAYAS) - Support from Idea to Prototype, aims to support and encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of science and technology. The program provides early-stage funding, mentorship, and other resources to help innovators and entrepreneurs turn their ideas into successful startups. NIDHI PRAYAS Program aims at providing prototype funding to convert idea(s) into prototype(s) to young and aspiring innovators. The ideas supported under NIDHI PRAYAS have potential for commercialization.

Goals and Objectives:
The program offers a range of resources and support to help participants develop their ideas and turn them into viable businesses. This includes:
  • Providing a platform for faster experimentation and modify approaches in the idea to market journey.
  • Workshops and training on topics such as product development, market research, and financial planning.
  • Mentorship and guidance from experienced entrepreneurs and industry experts.
  • Access to a network of potential investors and partners.
  • Support for product development and prototyping
  • Assistance with business planning and strategy development

C-CAMP also offers access to a world-class innovation ecosystem that includes - Incubation, Mentorship, Networking, Funding

This will ultimately help in generating innovative solutions indigenously relevant to local and global problems.
 
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Individual innovators without startup: Indian citizen, 18+ years, Lead innovator applies
  • Co-founders of startups: Indian citizen, 18+ years, Startup incorporated in India, 51% equity held by Indians, <7 years old, no prior funding support, Turnover not exceeding 25L INR, IP vested with startup
  • Physical product prototypes only: Technology-based ideas and innovations, Prototype completion within 18 months, Technical skills or background required, Roadmap for commercialization.

Additional terms for innovators in employment OR Students with any R&D organization OR Academic Institution :-The innovators in employment or pursuing students have to seek the NOC from their organisation or institution. The NOC should include:

  • Permission to apply for PRAYAS and extending sufficient time to work on the PRAYAS project.
  • Permission that IP generated would vest with the innovator
Notwithstanding the above, the followings will NOT be considered under NIDHI-PRAYAS:
  • Projects related to Pure Software development, e-Commerce, Service solutions, App based solutions.
  • Funding research or student internship in Academic institutions or R& D organisations
Focus areas: Only Life-sciences: agriculture, healthcare, clean-tech, energy, water, IoT.

Bio Traptor is a clean technology mosquito trapping device that takes advanatge of the natural behaviour of mosquitoes with the objective to "Attract & Kill".

Globally, one in three fruits goes to waste, and in our country, post-harvest supply chain losses for fruits and vegetables amount to around ₹30,000 crore. These losses occur at various stages of the supply chain, primarily due to perishability and spoilage. Gentech aims to build an end to end integrated data storage system using DNA as the storage medium, with unit economics comparable to that of existing storage media but with greater durability, storage density and energy efficiency.


Anava Bioware Pvt. Ltd.

Anava Bioware Private Limited is building a high-performance technology to produce biomaterials from climate emissions. They produce Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) using advanced fermentation technology and use it as a platform to develop special biomolecules for cosmetics and nutraceuticals, medical biomaterials for drug delivery and implants, and sustainable biomaterials for paints and packaging.


Artigence Healthcare Systems Pvt. Ltd.

The system includes a high-resolution camera that attaches to the microscope, a Single Board Computer (SBC) for real-time processing, and cloud-based AI software for Whole Slide Imaging (WSI) and automated blood smear analysis. It efficiently detects and classifies RBC, WBC, and platelet morphologies, generating detailed reports that are reviewed by pathologists before integration into the Lab Management System (LMS).


BPC Bioproducts Pvt. Ltd.

A novel approach of synthesising plasticised starch-polyester through melt extrusion in the presence of a biobased acid, followed by blending with a small quantity of poly lactic acid (‘PLA’) to create desired mechanical and barrier properties is being currently developed and tested. The material is expected to be degradable in wastewater, bio-compostable and degradable in soil without causing any environmental pollution.


Chrissron Biomass Solutions Pvt. Ltd.

Chrissron is currently developing biodegradable resin from biomass wastes that will be a green alternative to FR4 material used in printed circuit boards (PCB) and in EV battery packs thereby reducing the carbon footprint generated by 5% of e-waste generated and also promoting the circular bioeconomy by utilizing the biomass wastes which otherwise is burnt resulting in environmental pollution.


EarthKind Foods Biotech Pvt. Ltd.

EarthKind Foods Biotech is focused on transforming agricultural residue into premium, high quality, sustainable cooking oils (known as “cultured oils”) using advanced precision fermentation techniques.

Polyorbit Pvt. Ltd.

Bone defects caused by trauma, infections, or tumours present significant challenges in orthopaedic care, particularly for critical-sized defects that fail to heal naturally. Addressing these challenges, Polyorbit has developed bioengineered scaffolds, which integrate extracellular matrix (ECM)-based polymers with human dental pulp stem cell-derived exosomes (hDPSCs-Exos), have shown remarkable potential in in vitro studies for promoting bone regeneration. Having demonstrated promising results in vitro, we aim to validate the scaffold's efficacy and safety through comprehensive pre-clinical testing in vivo.

Diagnosing hepatitis C virus requires precise, cost-effective, and accessible solutions. Our innovation is a portable, highly accurate point-of-care (PoC) device integrating microfluidics, paramagnetic particle-based RNA capture, and cationic nanoparticle-induced colorimetric detection. The microfluidic chip features five chambers for direct RNA isolation from whole blood, eliminating centrifugation and reducing costs. By combining advanced molecular techniques with simplicity, our solution can revolutionize hepatitis C diagnostics, improving accessibility and healthcare outcomes worldwide.


Yashita Sharma

The project aims to create a collagen-based product line including healing products and skincare line using nano-collagen from tilapia/mixed fish scales. They envision revolutionizing wound care and skincare with marine collagen, promoting skin collagen stimulation through naturally derived ingredients and scientific innovation.
