Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms or C-CAMP, India’s premier technology and innovation hub with a cutting-edge healthtech & biomedical portfolio, rolls out Phase II of its partnership with SBI Foundation, the CSR arm of SBI, India’s biggest public bank and SBI General Insurance. Named Project Aarogya Daksh, the joint initiative aims to bring a state-of-the-art, indigenously developed contactless continuous remote patient monitoring technology to the public healthcare systems across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Sikkim. 400 units of the device have been deployed in these 6 states already and more coming soon.
Dozee is India’s first contactless remote vitals monitoring (RPM) device which can convert any normal bed into a step-down ICU. With a 12 vital parameter read-out tracked through proprietary AI algorithms, Dozee sets up an efficient early warning system for vastly improved patient safety and critical care outcomes. The unit can not only increase ICU throughput but also save thousands of nursing hours and maximise triaging for resource poor, challenging settings such as pandemic situations.
With Project Aarogya Daksh, C-CAMP-SBIF partnership along with SBI General Insurance looks to scale up its footprint by focusing on impact-driven deployment of indigenous technology in public hospitals across India. The goal is to boost healthcare delivery while aligning with Atma Nirbhar Abhiyan through support for Make-in-India industry, innovation and infrastructure.
C-CAMP CEO & Director, Dr Taslimarif Saiyed, said “Project Aarogya Daksh shows how C-CAMP-SBIF, along with SBI General Insurance, efforts have aligned to make world-class technology affordable and accessible for any common person through the public health system. Hospital beds per 1,000 people in India was reported at only 0.53 in 2017, according to the World Bank. The latest news reports state that ICU beds stand at only 125,000 for a population of 1.4 billion. By fostering a technology such as Dozee with Project Aarogya Daksh, we stand the potential to create phenomenal societal impact”
